Anxiety is a major issue every person deals with, believer or unbeliever. The difference for the believer is the help God provides to overcome anxiety, worry, and fear with the power of His peace and presence. Below are five sermons from a variety of Scriptures to help you focus on God and His truth.
1. The Answer for Anxiety (1 Peter 5:5-11; Proverbs 18:1) by Richard Caldwell
This is perhaps my favorite sermon on the list. Caldwell reveals the surprising truth of how pride causes anxiety, and how to fight with humility. This message was so well-received that Caldwell turned it into a short book.

2. Peace: Overcoming Anxiety (Philippians 4:4–9) by Tim Keller
Keller unpacks a classic text on anxiety to show believers how to reach peace and joy during stressful times. Keller’s teaching is clear, rich, and incredibly insightful. You can download the mp3 for free.
3. Anxiety (Matthew 6:25–34) by Alistair Begg
No biblical mention of anxiety is complete without the masterclass Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount. Begg begins his message on Jesus’ teaching about ninety seconds in after an introduction.
4. How to Overcome Your Fears (1 Peter 3:14–15) by Colin Smith
My pastor preached this message after a mass shooting in San Bernadino, California. You can read the transcript here.
5. A Cure for Care (1 Peter 5:7) by Charles Spurgeon
This sermon from the Prince of Preachers is still as powerful as when it was first preached in 1862. Enjoy the audio below or read it in a book along with other Spurgeon sermons on anxiety.
