OpentheBible.org — A Great Tool for Discipleship and Fighting Bible Illiteracy

Did you know that, according to the American Bible Society, 66% of Americans “express at least some curiosity to know more about what the Bible says”?

Our friends at Unlocking the Bible have created an amazing tool to give people curious about the Bible an “open house” to see what the story of the Bible is all about.

OpentheBible.org is a website that takes users through the Bible story in fifty sessions. This tool is perfect for one-to-one evangelism or discipleship and getting people to the heart of the Bible message.

Watch the intro video:

Each session has three parts:

1. Read or listen the passage. Session one is Genesis 1–2.

2. Listen to a twelve-minute teaching. (Session one below.)

3. Discuss the message with the provided questions. (See the first session’s questions below.)

Who might God want you to read the Bible with this year? Using OpentheBible.org with them could be what God uses to bring them to Christ and move them toward maturity.

Update: Another way to learn the Bible story is to attend one of the six campuses of our church in or near Chicago, IL, The Orchard EFC, as we trek through the Bible story in a one-year long sermon series titled “Open.” You can also listen to the series online.
