Curmudgeon /kərˈməjən/
noun, a bad-tempered or surly person.
I have good news for you if you’re itching for a good Christmas present for a Christian friend with a snarky sense of humor: you still have a couple of weeks before Christmas to find something. (And you may consider giving that friend a copy of Then Tweets My Soul: The Best of the Church Curmudgeon.)
If you’re active in the evangelical Twitter world, you will know the Church Curmudgeon. He’s the internet version of that grumpy old guy we all know at church, and also the main account (not called The Babylon Bee) that makes me LOL online (and subsequently explain to my wife why I laughed). Then Tweets My Soul is compilation of some of the best one-liners @ChrchCurmudgeon has shared on Twitter.
The Curmudgeon has an ecumenical spirit when it comes to dishing out hilarious comments, with decent weight spread across the board for Baptists, Calvinists, Methodists, and Pentecostals. It’s one thing to explain, it’s another thing to experience:
If you call Mary the Mother of God, then logically, you have to call Elizabeth the Auntie Christ.
They should call a seminary graduation “Casting out the ‘DMins.”
If our creepy puppet ministry saves one creepy kid, it will be worth it.
My pastor is praying church would go back to the way it’s supposed to be. He has to.
And of course a lot about both Chick-fil-A and worship leaders:
Spiritual warfare is when you pass by a Chick-fil-A on a Sunday and just wish…
Silly Adventists! The one denomination that can go to Chick-fil-A after church, and they’re vegetarians.
His Starbucks order had more words in it than the worship song he led on Sunday.
If you like Church Curmudgeon on Twitter, you will love this clever, clean, and witty book. I will probably keep my copy either on our coffee table, in the bathroom, or at my office for co-workers to enjoy.

Jesus shall reign until every enemy is made a footstool for His feet.
Too bad the name "Ottoman Empire" is taken.
