Logos 8 Now Available

Logos Bible Software just released the latest version: Logos 8.

While I haven’t taken a deep dive into all of its new features, I have noticed the following:

  • A slick new design. I didn’t think Logos7 looked too shabby but the Logos team made 8 even slicker. Obviously, no one chooses Bible software primarily on aesthetics, it does make for a pleasant experience.
  • It’s pretty darn fast. (Logos boasts that it’s 10x faster than Logos7.) Speed has never been a major issue for me with Logos but I did experience lags from time to time. Maybe it would be worse if my computer wasn’t so nice. While I haven’t spent a ton of time clicking around Logos 8, it does indeed seem faster. I don’t need Vin Diesel to convince me that fast is good.
  • It’s chocked full of new and useful features. Logos bends over backward to make your sermon prep and Bible study fast, organized, and convenient. Logos will help you create a useful process, save your work, and even help you create slides for projecting during your sermon. One feature I’m excited for is the search filter feature (pictured below). A problem I’ve had owning so many resources is not being able to browse them easily. Now I can see search results in a list and also in categories. This simple but thoughtful feature shows that the Faithlife people care about user experience.

Below are several videos to help you learn more about Logos 8.
