Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834–1892) remains one of my all-time favorite preachers. His sermons are marked by deep faith, striking clarity, and a remarkable power that still speaks today. And, of course, he’s endlessly quotable.
To honor one of my heroes from church history, I’ve gathered many of his finest sermons into a book series titled The Best of Charles Spurgeon. These volumes cover a wide range of themes—anxiety, depression, prayer, the Holy Spirit, death, suffering, and the cross.
If you’re looking for a place to begin, I suggest starting with Encouraged to Pray or Walking in the Power of the Holy Spirit, two of my personal favorites. Or, if you’d like to begin at the climax of the biblical story, you can download a free copy of Our Savior’s Cries from the Cross.
