Another year in the books, and a good time to pray Psalm 90:12, “Teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.”
I am grateful for YOU, reader, for your time and engagement. I love hearing from readers on how what I share is useful and what is going on in life. If you’re reading this via email, feel free to reply to this message and tell me how I can pray for you and what you’ve appreciated about being on this list. I read every message!
While I’ve already shared my top ten books of 2024, this post shares a somewhat random collection of things I did or enjoyed this year.
Colossians 1:9–12 is certainly the passage of Scripture I’ve meditated on and prayed the most this year. Expect an article and maybe a video based on it early next year.
And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
The passage is so wide reaching (consider the bold words: filled, all, fully, every) and so very practical—we can pray it right back to God.
My prayer for you is to be filled with the knowledge of God’s will for your life in all spiritual wisdom and understanding so you can live for Him more.
2025 was a year of growth. For our family, literally as my girls are growing up so fast. For the ministry I lead, Abre la Biblia (Open the Bible’s Spanish outreach), it’s hard to keep up with growth and opportunity. The fast pace is causing me to grow, too. My wife and her ministry grew in exciting ways as well.
As a chaplain for a baseball team, it was a season of fruit, patience, and growth. But I trust in God’s Word to make and grow disciples, and am encouraged how men testified how God used me to help them learn what it means to follow Christ.
2024 was a year of growth for my newsletter. I added close to 1,500 subscribers! If you’re new, know that I love you and want to serve you up edifying thoughts and resources to anchor you in Christ.
Book projects… This year taught me that book projects are a long-game. But I have a few irons in the fire:
As I wait, I’m asking the Lord for patience, to grow in usefulness to Him, and for Him to open the doors He wants for me. We’ll see what happens! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Every month I share amazing online resources. Here are five of the best from this year (plus a bonus):
Lastly, I humbly invite you to consider supporting my work via Patreon. Expenses of having an online platform have risen but so has the opportunity to bear fruit. Your financial partnership (even as little as $5 per month) will help me share more biblically-rich and practically-helpful content for free.
